Peer pressure is when an individual does things just to fit in with friends, and this includes changing one’s behavior, dressing and other things just to be part of a grouping. This happens most when one is growing up especially among young people and this tends to affect young people’s lives in different ways whether good or bad not depending on age or whether one is a girl or a boy.
Peer pressure comes with different reasons and some of these are lack of communication between parents and children, seeking validation from friends and peers and failure to distinguish between bad and good.
Influence from peers is mostly the common peer pressure among young people and mostly they force each other to experience drinking beer or smoking marijuana to seem elite to fellow peers. It is therefore important that you should open up with your parents, teachers or your guardians to verify the information that you get from friends to avoid making wrong choices.
